Sunday Sweet Edit

July 24, 2022

Hi, sweet friends! This Sunday Sweet Edit I’m sending Greetings from Wyoming! My oldest and I are on our first solo trip to visit my brother and his family. It’s been such a fun trip – I can’t wait to share more about it.

For now, here are a few things not to miss…

on the podcasts…

We take a look at Bennifer’s marriage and I teach Jay about the Madison Lacroy connection. We also chat with Mike Machanic about the Democrats chances in the Midterms. Oh, and a whole lot of 90’s nostalgia and laughs, too.

The One With the 2024 Election Brand New Information

It’s three days after the general election in America and the Democrats got trounced. Suzanne and Jay are here with a special episode to share their ideas about how the Dems have lost their way, the important changes that need to occur to realign the party, and the silver lining of it all. Plus: Joe Rogan, Bari Weiss, and Suzanne falls down the Diddy rabbit hole.  Want more Brand New Information? Emily Lynn Paulson was one of the first people I followed on Instagram when I stopped drinking in January 2020, and it was such a treat to be able to chat with her on The Sober Mom Life.

The Weekend Reset: Am I That Bad? The Sober Mom Life

There’s a problematic message in our society that tells us that we only need to quit drinking if our drinking looks ‘that bad’. You know the kind – Meg Ryan in When A Man Loves a Woman or Nicholas Cage in Leaving Las Vegas. This message can cause so many challenges for women on their sobriety journeys. It can make them second guess themselves about whether or not they need to quit drinking, even as their personal relationship with alcohol becomes more and more negative. But what if you reframed this message? What if you stopped asking if you were ‘that bad’, and started asking if alcohol was that bad? How would this change your perspective? Are you craving a community in sobriety? Join us in the Sober Mom Life Cafe! You’ll get access to weekly peer support meetings, the exclusive Cafe social feed, our monthly book club, happy hour, the chance to share your story on The Real Sober Moms, and more!
