Hi, sweet friends! I love seeing what people are reading and planning to read, so today I’m sharing my summer reading list. A few of the books I’ve already read or are currently reading/listening to (can we all agree that listening to books counts as “reading” them??), and a few are on my list…
What’s on your summer reading list??

SUMMER READING LIST
BUY YOURSELF THE FUCKING LILIES | TARA SCHUSTER
I’m currently halfway through this book and I already want to slow down so I don’t finish it too quickly. This isn’t your ordinary self-help book – no cliche platitudes or toxic positivity a la Rachel Hollis.(Barf.) Tara shares rituals she created to help fix her life. Some are small, some significant, but they’re all designed to honor yourself and your precious life. And, she’s funny and doesn’t take herself too seriously. I mean, she refers to herself as “T$”. Amazing.
SOMEBODY’S DAUGHTER | ASHLEY C. FORD
I cannot wait to read this one. From Amazon: “Somebody’s Daughter steps into the world of growing up a poor, Black girl in Indiana with a family fragmented by incarceration, exploring how isolating and complex such a childhood can be. As Ashley battles her body and her environment, she embarks on a powerful journey to find the threads between who she is and what she was born into, and the complicated familial love that often binds them.”
SHARE YOUR STUFF. I’LL GO FIRST. | LAURA TREMAINE
When my best friend was visiting over Memorial Day weekend, she told me about this book. We decided to order it and do it together. “10 Questions to Take Your Friendship to the Next Level”?? Sign us up.
THE WRECKAGE OF MY PRESENCE | CASEY WILSON
I want to be Casey Wilson’s best friend. I’ve loved her before this book (if you haven’t listened to her Real Housewives podcast Bitch Sesh yet, you must), and love her even more now after listening to it. Hilarious, heartfelt and smart – it’s one of my recent favorites.
LIVE YOUR LIFE : MY STORY OF LOVING AND LOSING NICK CORDERO | AMANDA KLOOTS
I followed Amanda’s heartbreaking story on Instagram last year at the beginning of COVID. Her 41 year old healthy husband caught COVID and was in the hospital for months before losing his life. She shared it all on her Stories and the world watched. I’m halfway through listening to this book and have already wiped away some tears.
THAT SUMMER | JENNIFER WEINER
I can always count on Jennifer Weiner for a great beach read and I am going to make time this summer to actually READ this book, rather than listen to it.
WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU? | BRUCE D. PERRY, MD, PhD + OPRAH WINFREY
Not going to lie – Oprah can make me roll my eyes. BUT, I’ve been hearing great things about this book and I need to see what it’s about. Whether it’s big T trauma or little t trauma, I think we can all benefit from uncovering our pasts and figuring out our shit.
