Hi, sweet friends. It’s a Friday Five: we made it. I hope you have a good weekend. Let’s meet back here on Monday… 😉

THE QUIT LIT
This Naked Mind by Annie Grace | I’m currently listening to this book and it’s astounding. It breaks down what we think we know about alcohol. If you are open to relearning about alcohol and what it does to our minds and bodies, I can’t recommend this book enough.
We Are The Luckiest by Laura McKowen | My favorite of the bunch. Laura writes so beautifully about her struggles with alcohol and shares the ways in which her life is much bigger without it.
Quit Like A Woman by Holly Whitaker | OK, this one has a lot of interesting facts about alcohol and AA, so it’s worth the read. There’s a big “against the patriarchy” vibe that I didn’t love (even if it’s valid).
Blackout by Sarah Hepola | Wow, this book is harrowing and beautiful. Hepola shares her stories of heavy drinking and focuses on the science of blackouts.
Cold Turkey by Mishka Shubaly | This audible book is for heavy drinkers who want to stop and Shubaly shares steps to take in those first few weeks. I was not a heavy drinker and I just listened to it 5 months sober, but it was still very interesting.
