The 5 Jackets You Need For Fall

Fall, Looks

October 4, 2019

Happy Friday, sweet friends! I first shared this post last fall, but it’s been so popular I wanted to update the links and share it again… so here are 5 jackets you need for the fall.

OK, back to #momlife. Thank you so much for stopping by!

5 jackets you need for fall: the military jacket

THE MILITARY JACKET

The new neutral (although the army jacket is definitely not new). This might be the jacket I wear more often than any other one.

5 jackets you need for fall: the moto jacket

THE MOTO JACKET

I dare you to put on a black moto jacket and not feel cool. You can’t do it. I’m not the coolest person in the world, but wearing this jacket, I feel like I should be in Grease. But like, a modern day version without John Travolta because now he’s all creepy. I love that my moto jacket has a removable hood, which makes it easy to wear from fall into winter. Also, it’s less than $100, which is a  total steal.

5 jackets you need for fall: the blazer

THE BLAZER

Give me a chic menswear piece any day of the week. Blazers always make me think of my mom, so obvs I have a soft spot in my heart for this polished piece. These days, the shoulder pads are lower or non-existent (or should be), but the result of donning a blazer is the same: an instant put-together, chic look. My blazer is great for fall and is currently being price-matched.

(A sizing note: I have broad shoulders, which has made it difficult to find a blazer that fits my shoulders, but doesn’t overwhelm me. This one is perfect. I’m wearing size 2.)

5 jackets you need for fall: the denim jacket

THE DENIM JACKET

I don’t have to explain why a denim jacket is an absolute closet essential for ANY season, right??? I will, however, explain why you probs need this denim jacket. It’s currently on sale for $35, in stock in all sizes and has zero distressing, so it will be in your wardrobe for the rest of time.

THE COZY CASUAL ONE

A total #momlife staple. This jacket is called the “Better Sweater,” which explains it all. It runs small, so I would size up. I’m wearing size small.

I love all of these! Question though: how do you size each of them? Like, are they fitted at all? Do you buy it so that you can you can wear a light sweater under? A chunky sweater? I’m always at a loss when I go to buy a jacket because I just don’t know how fitted/ loose I should buy, but all of these look fab on you! Please share your knowledge!

Hi Kobi! Most of the time I size a jacket so I can wear a long sleeve shirt underneath, and maybe a light sweater. Most of the time I won’t wear a thick, bulky sweater under a jacket bc I just don’t like the way it feels. I want my jackets to fit well, so if I’m in between sizes, most of the time I will size down. I hope that helps! xo
