Happy Thursday! I’ve been meaning to share this designer handbag review for awhile because I receive so many messages asking this question: Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM or Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere 30?
I’ve had my Neverfull MM for 7 years and my Speedy Bandouliere for almost 2, so they’ve both gotten a whole lot of wear and tear and I can share honest reviews of each.
I’m breaking it all down today and sharing an overview, the pros and cons of each bag and my answer to the question: Neverfull MM or Speedy Bandouliere 30?
I’d love to hear your thoughts: which do you prefer? Let me know below!
Thanks for stopping by!
XO

DESIGNER HANDBAG REVIEW
OVERVIEW
THE DIMENSIONS: 12.6 (length) x 11.4 (height) x 6.7 (width) inches
THE FABRIC: Coated canvas with cowhide leather trim
THE STRAPS: Shoulder straps
THE PRICE: $1320
THE INSIDE: One lined inside zipper pocket
D-ring for keys and accessories
The new version also comes with a removable zippered clutch, hence the price raise.
You can also choose different lining colors: Beige (shown), red or pink.
PROS:
It literally is NEVER full and can hold all that my working #momlife requires. My Macbook Pro fits perfectly inside.
It’s durable. My tote has been through a lot over the last 7 years and still looks pretty good. The leather straps darken pretty quickly and turn that pretty golden color.
The coated canvas is easy to clean.
Great for travel. It’s the perfect carry-on to fit all of your essentials.
CONS:
No crossbody strap. The straps are long enough that it can stay on my shoulder, but I love a crossbody.
No zipper closure. Most totes don’t though, so now I’m just being picky.
After 7 years, the lining/coating of the inside pocket is flaking. Apparently, I can take it to the LV store and they’ll send it out for repair, so…errands.
LOUIS VUITTON SPEEDY BANDOULIERE 30
OVERVIEW
THE DIMENSIONS: 11.8 (length) x 8.2 (height) x 6.6 (width) inches
THE FABRIC: Coated canvas with cowhide leather trim
THE STRAPS: Top handles and adjustable crossbody strap
THE EXTRAS: Comes in a mini padlock for extra security
THE PRICE: $1450 for the Bandouliere version (with sporty leather accents down the side and crossbody strap) and $1020 for the original Speedy (not crossbody)
THE INSIDE: One inside zipper pocket
D-ring for keys and accessories
PROS:
It is deceptively big and can hold almost as much as the Neverfull (except a laptop).
The adjustable crossbody strap. No brainer.
The zippered closure. (And mini padlock if you want to keep your treasures in there, which I don’t.)
The coated canvas is easy to clean.
CONS:
The opening is smaller than I’d like, making it hard to find what you want quickly.
The interior is dark so it becomes a bit of a black whole situation.
SO….
LOUIS VUITTON NEVERFULL or LOUIS VUITTON SPEEDY?
THE VERDICT
The Neverfull MM is a great first Louis Vuitton, but my personal favorite is The Speedy.
I carry it more often and find that it’s not only chic, but practical.
That said, if you don’t yet have a tote that you love and will last you years, I would invest in the Neverfull MM.
Decided on a favorite, but not ready to drop the dough? There are SO many great gently used options for a fraction of the price. Here are the best ones of each bag…

See my fall outfit round up here!
I’ve always been more of a fan of the Speedy. I love them both but I prefer the overall construction of the Speedy.
OK…I have some thoughts. I got my first Speedy 9 years ago and absolutely loved it UNTIL I got my Neverfull a couple years later. For working girl, the Neverfull has everything I need. I can pack workout clothes for the gym, my breakfast and lunch, and reading materials and I literally never gets full. Mind you though, I have the largest size, the Neverfull GM.
Several years after I got my Speedy, it was stolen (a week before your wedding actually), but my insurance company surprised me by pricing out the Speedy Bandouliere 35, which was a definite upgrade with the crossbody strap.
I’ve traveled with both and while the zipper is great for keeping foreign hands out of your stuff, I still prefer the Neverfull.
The most I’ve ever used my Speedy was when I sent my Neverfull in for repairs, which ended up costing about $500, and I sorely missed my tote bag. It doesn’t help that my bag got stuck in Customs and it took an extra 2 weeks to finally arrive back in Chicago, but the repairs team did and amazing job and I’ve taken several more bags back to the store to have repairs done. They look brand new!
Final verdict: I’m a tote bag lugging kind of girl, but I will absolutely never give up my Speedy because it’s such a classic piece.
I love both, had my speedyB hot stamp because I knew I’m keeping it. My neverfull I think ? it’s an investment ??
That’s a good idea! Great investment, for sure 🙂 xo
I love this review! I have the Speedy 25 bandouliere and I must say I absolutely Love it! I have been thinking about getting a neverfull and this has definitely swayed me for travel and days like that!
