A Fall Date Night Look + 5 Fall Date Night Ideas

Fall, Looks

August 29, 2018

Happy Wednesday, sweet friends! We celebrated The Mister’s birthday yesterday and I ate more cake than he did. So, there’s that.

I’ve gotten a few requests to share a cold weather date night look. Granted, it’s still like 90 degrees outside, but it’s coming, y’all. The cold weather will be here before we know it, and we’ve gotta be prepared. With cute clothes.

I scored this adorable top at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and the good news is that it just went on sale again today! WOOHOO. On the hanger, I wasn’t totally sold. These aren’t normally my colors, and I almost walked right by it. I’m so glad I the little retail angel on my shoulder convinced me to give it a try, because it’s GORGEOUS. Whether you’re a blonde, brunette or a redhead, it’s so flattering. It’s pretty blousy, so I chose to do a little half tuck in front. I’m wearing XS.

I picked up these jeans at the Nordstrom Sale, too, and they’re 40% off, which makes them $38. YOU GUYS. The fit is amazing and rivals that of designer denim. I love that there’s no distressing, so they are very classic and I can wear them for years to come. Oh, and the stretch is perfect. They run true to size.

My bag is the best Chloe dupe in town. ‘Nuff said.

How often do you go on date nights with your husband? We try to go on a date at least once a month, but sometimes even that is tough to make happen. There’s not much I love more than being able to finish a sentence while talking with my husband and sipping on a glass of red wine. That’s my happy place. And date night is the ONLY way that’s going to happen.

I did a little brainstorming and came up with 5 romantic, not cheesy, fun fall date night ideas. I hope you enjoy!

GO ON A PROGRESSIVE DATE.

Nope, this doesn’t have anything to do with politics. The Mister and I have never done this, but we totally want to. You start with drinks at one place, move on to appetizers at another, entrees at the next place and finally dessert. Sure, it’s not the most logical thing, but sometimes the best things aren’t. Don’t make reservations. Sit at the bar. Live it up. 🙂

GO TO A CIDER BEER TASTING.

Wine tasting gets all the buzz (get it), and I’m a fan. But, as soon as that first leaf falls, I’m ready for the cider beer. I love the idea of going to a cider beer tasting, and this is on our Fall Bucket List for sure. If you’re in the Chicago area, check out Right Bee Cider. It gets great reviews and it was founded by a couple. C’mon. So cute.

TAKE A COOKING CLASS.

Is there anything more romantic than cooking together? (Except when you’re at home and trying to cook together with little ones under foot. Not romantic.) Head to your local Sur La Table and sign up for a cooking class so you can learn something together AND get a little romance. They even have date night cooking classes. With wine. Done.

MAKE A BLANKET FORT AND WATCH A SCARY MOVIE.

If this isn’t the coziest activity ever, I don’t know what is. (And by “watch a scary movie” I mean pretend you’re going to watch a scary movie and then choose The Notebook because you don’t watch scary movies.)

MEET AT A COFFEE SHOP FOR A PSL.

Sometimes we can’t make a date night happen, so we turn it into a date morning and meet at Starbucks during the week. It’s a nice way to change up our morning coffee routine, and it makes something ordinary feel special, and isn’t that the overall goal of marriage?
