Hi, sweet friends! This Sunday Sweet Edit, Georgia is back home and happier than ever! (If you have a new puppy, I highly recommend investing in training. It helps. For real.)

I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!

on the podcasts…

Our mom is back on the podcast! We talk about the importance of grunge and Nirvana. I break down Will Smith’s apology (lame) and get way too candid about an Oscar winner who isn’t as he seems. Jay and Mom talk about the Kansas abortion vote and what it might signal.

The One With #KateGate Brand New Information

Where the Bleep is Kate Middleton? This burning question has brought Jay and Suzanne back to the mic for a special episode of Brand New Information! Suzanne catches Jay up to speed on the theories and developments surrounding the whereabouts of Kate Middleton, The Princess of Wales, while Jay shares his in depth knowledge of the royal family (exclusively gleaned from The Crown). If you want to dive deeper into #KateGate, Suzanne recommends listening to another sibling pop culture duo – Pop Apologists! Follow Jay on Instagram & Twitter, and Suzanne on Instagram!

If Jyoti Chand (@mamajotes) doesn’t inspire you to find out what this sobriety stuff is all about, I’m not sure who will. I loved this conversation – it’s real and funny, just like Jyoti.

How Do You Feel? The Sober Mom Life

Society has done such an effective job of teaching us to restrict our emotions that it can feel hard to believe that emotions are a completely natural human experience. So many of us learned to reach for a drink when we started to feel an uncomfortable emotion, and we lost touch with how to feel anything at all.  Learning how to feel your emotions is often one of the biggest parts of a sobriety journey. So today, I ask my therapist mom: How do you feel emotions in an effective way?  We’ll talk about how to recognize and process emotions, the dangers of emotional numbing, understanding shame, and even how to model effective emotional awareness for our children.  Join us in the The Sober Mom Life Cafe! For just $25/month, you get access to 8 weekly peer support meetings, the exclusive Cafe social feed (like Facebook, but better!), our monthly book club, the monthly Q+A, the ability to join the retreat, and the chance to share your story on The Real Sober Moms, and merch discounts!  We also have The Sober Mom Life Community for just $5.95/month – In the Community, you’ll receive access to the exclusive Community social feed (like Facebook, but better!), the exclusive community chat, our monthly book club, and one free weekly meeting.  My mocktail recipe book, ‘No Ethanol Needed’ is finally here! THE ART OF STOPPING TIME

I’m not sure if it’s because I’m in my 40’s or if it’s motherhood or both, but lately the passage of time is really freaking me out. For me, quitting alcohol is so much about attempting to slow it all down. I picked up this book last year at Miraval and I’m finally getting to it. It’s a 100 day journey – it sounds like a lot, but it takes 5 minutes in the morning and is such a simple way to change how I look at my life and time. I’m loving it.

I’ve shared my favorite long torso (and regular torso!) swimsuit many times before, but I’m not going to stop because it’s that good. It’s on sale and in stock in most sizes. I also linked the solid colors below.
