Sunday Sweet Edit

September 19, 2021

Hi, sweet friends. It’s another Sunday Sweet Edit!

I normally go with Funny Bunny no chip on my nails, but switched it up this week with OPI Taupeless Beach and it’s the prettiest grayish brown for fall. Also, loving the almond shape. It’s been easier to get my nails to grow a bit – I’ve always done square nails and the corners get weak. The almond shape solves that problem.

My dad wore white Reeboks every day of his life. So, obviously I had to get these kicks. They’re crazy comfy and on sale.

"We need 4 hugs a day for survival. We need 8 hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth."

I saw this the other day, and it changed something for me.

A lot of the times, as a mom of 3 little ones, I feel touched out. Like by 5pm, I don’t want anyone to touch me. The prodding and pulling of the day just wears me right out.

I know my kids need touch. They want to feel connected, and so do I.

When I saw this stat on hugs (which, I have no idea if it’s true or not, but….), I decided to reframe my thoughts on touching. I shared it with my girls, and told them we need 12 hugs a day to grow.

So, we’ve been having “hug time” throughout the day. It’s corny and a bit like Trolls, but it’s been working.

And, I’m loving the connection so much, too.
