Tips To Make Late Night Nursing Feeds Easier

Motherhood

(This post is sponsored by Jasco, all thoughts and opinions are my own.)

Hi, sweet friends!

If I’ve learned anything since becoming a mama, it’s that sleep is SACRED. I regret every single nap I didn’t take or night I stayed up too late before kids.

While our little man is (so far!) proving to be a better sleeper than his sisters were when they were babies, I’m still getting up in the middle of the night to nurse him at least once. (And I’m sure that now I just said that, tonight he’ll be up at least three times. Babies don’t like bragging.)

I have grown to love those middle of the night feeds. I cherish that bonding time with I have with my baby, while the rest of the house is sound asleep. And I know all too well that before long, these days will be over and I’ll once again sleep through the night.

Over the course of nursing 3 babies, I’ve learned a few things. I’m excited to be partnering with GE Enbrighten Motion Activated Night Lights to share my tips to make late night nursing feeds easier.

The best part? They’re available at Amazon, which every mama knows makes life easier. Yay.

TIPS FOR MAKING LATE NIGHT NURSING FEEDS EASIER

GET EVERYTHING READY BEFORE YOU PUT BABY TO BED. Have a glass of water for you on the nightstand. Have your nursing pillow ready to go. Have a change of clothes out if you need to change your baby. Try to have everything in place, so all you have to do is change your baby and then nurse him.

SLEEP IN A NURSING-FRIENDLY TOP. The last thing you want to do in the middle of the night is fumble with a shirt that doesn’t provide easy access for nursing.

DON’T WATCH THE CLOCK. I know this one can be hard. But, try your best to forget the time of night. Also, try not to rush your babe. You want to make sure baby is nice and full so you’re not repeating this process before you need to.

LEAVE THE LIGHTS OFF. Especially after 6 weeks old, baby will start to get distracted. While you want him to be awake so he can nurse, you don’t want him to think it’s time to wake up. Here’s where these genius GE Enbrighten Motion Activated Night Lights come in…

I have the GE Enbrighten Motion-Select SleepLite in the hallway. This is perfect here because sometimes he doesn’t like to stay in his room while I’m trying to nurse. So, I end up having to walk around the house or go in random places. I can now see without turning on the harsh lights and messing up his sleep routine! With virtually no blue light emission, the SleepLite provides ambient light output to promote a healthy sleep cycle.

You can choose between 2 motion settings:
  • Motion-Activated Light – Detected motion activates the light up to 25 feet away in low light conditions and the light turns off automatically after 90 seconds of no motion.
  • Motion-Boost Light – Night light automatically turns on at dusk at a low 3 lumens, boosts to 40 lumens when motion is detected from up to 25 feet away, and automatically dims back to 3 lumens after 90 seconds without motion.

Nursery and Baby Gray

I have the GE Motion Select Nightlight in baby boy’s nursery. It’s WAY chicer (more chic??) than a regular nightlight, so I definitely don’t mind how it looks.

The automatic LED light turns on when motion is detected up to 25 feet away, and turns off after 90 seconds of no activity. And, it has a Dusk-to-Dawn Light Sensor, so while in Motion-Boost mode, the energy-efficient light turns on at dusk and off at dawn to preserve light only when it’s need. How cool is that?!

GE Enbrighten Motion-Activated Dimmable Night Light

I love having this motion-activated night light in baby boy’s bathroom. It detects motion within a 120 degree area and activates the light up to 20 feet away and it automatically turns off after 90 seconds without motion. Also, it’s dimmable so you can control the brightness level to your needs.
