This “how to use a flat iron to perfect loose waves” post is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hot Tools. All opinions are 100% mine.
Hi, sweet friends!
Finally! I’m sharing a hair post. One of the most asked questions I receive is about my hair and which hair tools are my favorite and I’m so excited to share the tools I use every day with you.
But first, let me just say something: I haven’t always been known to have good hair. From overusing hairspray in the 6th grade to dying my hair purple in high school, my hair has been on quite a journey. (Oh, and don’t get me started on my early adolescent years when it was a good idea to have a perm in the back and spikes in the front. OH MY GOODNESS WHY ON EARTH.)
I’ve shared my love for my Hot Tools Professional curling iron on here before because it’s the only curling iron I will ever use. I’ve been using it for years and there’s just no turning back. It’s no wonder it’s widely used in professional salons. They know what they’re doing. (Duh.)
So, when I recently discovered that Hot Tools is launching the Signature Series line to bring styling tools from a trusted brand used by professionals to the everyday consumer, I knew I had to try them and add this flat iron to my hair tools collection.
If you haven’t tried their new line yet, you NEED to. I fully believe in investing in great tools for your hair and this one will not disappoint. The Hot Tools Signature Series is available at Amazon, Target and Wal-Mart.
I’m sharing how I use my Hot Tools Signature Series Digital Flat Iron, 1 inch to help perfect my loose waves, so be sure to head to the bottom of the post to find out!

The Hot Tools Signature Series flat iron is less than $50 and gets rave reviews! I absolutely LOVE it because it doesn’t dry out my hair. It makes it shiny and so pretty, which is amazing for this busy mama.
So, how do I use the flat iron to make sure my curls look on point?
These days, I have been using both the Hot Tools Signature Series curling iron and the flat iron. The curling iron helps me get those loose, beachy waves and the flat iron helps to make sure the waves aren’t ringlets.
I still curl my hair as normal. (See my beachy waves hair tutorial here!) I leave a few inches out of the curling iron and then I go back over the ends with my flat iron to make sure the curl doesn’t go to the ends of my hair and turn into ringlets. I do curl it under just a teeeensy bit, so that it’s not stick straight, which might look a bit weird.
That’s it! So easy.
I’ve also been wanting to switch up my look a bit and go with straight hair, so I’ll be sharing that on here soon, too.
OK, that’s it for today. It’s time for all of the coffee. As always, thank you for all of your support, sweet friends!
