Thank you to Stage Stores for sponsoring this “Celebrating Strong Women” post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Happy Friday, sweet friends. The Sweet Edit will be coming at you tomorrow, so be sure to come back for that.
As you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. When Stage Stores asked if I could help them spread the word and raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Fund, it was an immediate yes.
Stage has turned October into Pink October and is celebrating strong women everywhere. During the month of October, for every #ipinkican moment (when you share using the hashtag) Stage will donate $1.00 to support Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
And really, aren’t all women strong? (YES.) But. Breast cancer survivors are especially strong and powerful. I bow down to you if you are a survivor, or if your family member or friend has been affected by breast cancer. I can’t imagine the power and heart it takes to wage that battle.
As a mama to two girls, the quote “Here’s to strong women. May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.” always gives my heart a little pang.
I am blessed to have a strong mom who has taught me way too much fit neatly into a short blog post. She’s my role model, my supporter, my therapist, my best friend and the person who I can always count on to laugh at my corny jokes. She’s shown me that it’s possible to try hard things and that we are capable of more than we know. That even if we’re scared, we show up. And most of all, she’s taught me that I can always, always count on her.
Lately, I’ve been thinking what makes me feel strong. Sure, yoga and running makes my body feel strong. And coffee makes me feel powerful. (Ha.)
If I had to choose a time in my life when I truly feel strong, it’s when I’m fully open to being loved and giving love. It’s when I’m being vulnerable and real. It’s when my heart is open and not judging. I want my girls to see that being kind, loving and accepting is strong.
What makes you feel strong? Who is your role model?
Thank you, thank you for all of your support this week! I truly appreciate it.
XO

In my happy place. Cozy with coffee. Also, this robe is the softest thing ever and I’m never taking it off.
