Happy Monday, sweet friends!
OH MY GOODNESS. I stayed up way too late last night watching my team, the Packers, beat my husband’s team, the Bears. That game! So stressful. But, man, do we have heart. Yay.
OK. Let’s talk about mom style…
It’s easy as a stay at home mom to write off certain pieces of clothes as “not for me” or file them under “When would I ever wear that, anyway?” I know I’ve fallen victim to it many times.
Relying on your favorite pair of worn in leggings and your trusty Lululemon jacket becomes second nature and you don’t have to give another thought about what to wear.
I get it. Believe me.
BUT. I also know how darn good it feels when I put a little bit more into my outfit. It doesn’t take much, but when I switch it up even just a little, I feel good. There’s a bounce in my step. (Even if there’s zero bounce in my hair because I haven’t washed it in days.)
Don’t get it twisted. I’m not saying you should go all out and wear heels during the day. Because, WHOA. But maybe throw on your favorite pair of jeans one day this week. Or slip on some leopard slides and a slouchy sweater with those leggings. Or maaaaaybe, add a trench coat to your #ootd. I promise, it’ll make you look and feel like you’ve got your life together, even if you don’t. (And really, who does??)
Did I mention that my trench coat is ON SALE?! (A note about sizing: I’m wearing an XS and I still have room for a sweater underneath. If you’re in between sizes, I would size down. Also, it comes with a detachable hood, which I’ve removed for this look.)
I shared this athleisure trench coat look last spring after having my baby. (Another bonus of a trench coat? It’s super flattering when you tie it and cinch it around your waist.)
Today’s look is all about the double denim with a pop of leopard, all topped off with the most classic coat there is. It’s the perfect way to dress down a trench coat for fall. You can bet I’ll be recreating this look as often as I can this fall.
