As soon as I had my first baby, I thought about traditions. (I mean, after I freaked out that I just had a baby.) There’s just something about those tried and true family traditions, passed down from generation to generation, that gain even more significance over time.  knew I wanted my kids to grow up to love them as much as I had.

Most of our family traditions revolve around Christmas, which is probably one of the reasons I love this holiday so much.

SOME OF OUR MOST BELOVED HOLIDAY TRADITIONS:

Cutting down our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. No matter the weather or how tired we are from all the good food we ate the day before, we always pack into the car and make the hour drive to our favorite Christmas tree farm. There’s just nothing like a fresh tree!

Along with little treats and goodies, my mom always made sure our Christmas stockings included an orange, a toothbrush and socks. I’ve carried on the tradition with my family, and this year I’m excited to gift my family these adorable Solmate Socks.

We save our stockings for last. It’s like the icing on top of the sweet Christmas morning cake. Once the gifts are all opened and we are drowning in wrapping paper, the stockings are a sweet way to top off the Christmas festivities.

What are some of your holiday traditions? I want to know! Let me know in the comments. 🙂

If you’re looking for the perfect gift to make your holidays even cozier, look no further than these whimsical, mismatched Solmate socks. Not only are they super cute and comfy, but they are eco-friendly and proudly made right here in the USA. And in case you want to go the matching family route (because WHO DOESN’T), they make them for men, kiddos and babes, too.

Happy December, sweet friends! Don’t forget to stop by tomorrow for The Sweet Edit.

  3. Making holiday traditions with our kids is so important. One of my favorite things to do is to bake a treat for ‘Santa’ on Christmas Eve.

  4. Those socks look so comfy! We put up our tree the day after thanksgiving too!
