Hi friends!
Happy whatever day it is! (Is it just me or does the week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve cause way too much confusion? I never know what day it is or how much time is left in the year.)
Let’s talk resolutions. Do you guys make one? It’s something you’re either totally on board with or completely against. (Probably since lukewarm is the complete opposite of resolute. So….)
I’ve always made resolutions. I believe in them, even if I’ve pretty much never kept one. But really, isn’t failing an important part of it all? And maybe even the whole point is the trying part. The falling down and then the getting back up.
This year, my resolution is to focus more on self care.
Before you roll your eyes, let me explain….
As a stay at home mama, it’s easy to get lost in the daily pulls of motherhood. The messes and the clean ups and the tantrums and the nap struggles and the tears and the blah, blah, blah. It’s easy to keep going and going all day and then collapse into bed at the end of the night, barely able to form a sentence, much less have a thought about self care.
I’m 3.5 years into this motherhood gig and I’ve finally realized that if I’m going to take care of myself, I have to be very intentional about it. I need to plan it.
And no, self care doesn’t mean a weekend getaway to Miraval (although, how amazing does that sound?!). Instead, I’ll take a nice detoxifying face mask before bed or an early morning yoga practice while the rest of the house is asleep. Maybe I’ll even get a little crazy and read a chapter of my book before I fall asleep at night. You guys. I’m about to be a self care animal.
Of course, I’ll be sharing my progress on here and more on my Instagram Stories. Stay tuned!
You guys, can I tell you how happy I am now that I have 2 built-in excuses to stay home on New Year’s Eve? I blame my kids, but I mean, c’mon. I love every minute of NOT being out on New Years Eve.
In case you are heading out on NYE, today I’m bringing you the perfect casual NYE style.
Lilla P sent me this velvet cami and I am a bit obsessed. The color is SO pretty and it can be easily dressed up or down.
Can we talk about this tote? It’s been one of the most popular items I’ve ever posted and for good reason. ‘Nuff said.
Thanks for stopping by, friends!
XO
