Happy Wednesday, friends! You guys. Thanksgiving has totally snuck up on me this year. And you should know I’m totally patting myself on the back for having put some thought into my Thanksgiving outfit, because I can’t say I’ve done that for the menu. Eeeeek. It’s not like we’re hosting Thanksgiving dinner at our home this year. (We are.)
While I was thinking about what I should wear, a lot of options came to mind. Comfort is always key for me, but especially when I plan on eating my way through the day. (Which I do.)
I thought about this sweater vest almost immediately. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I’ve been wearing it a whole lot lately. (Isn’t it funny that a sweater vest is cool again?) It’s the perfect piece to throw on and instantly feel polished.
My slides are (faux) furry and feel like slippers so of course, they’re a no-brainer for Thanksgiving. Oh, and they’re on sale. BAM.
My exact denim is almost sold out (although, there are a few sizes left and they’re on sale!), but this pair is another good option. (READ: they also have a lot a stretch.)
OK, now for the fun part.
The don’ts.
Remember Glamour magazine? I used to love looking at all of the DON’Ts, with the black bar over people’s faces. Haha.
Here’s what NOT to wear for Thanksgiving:
Bell sleeves (the gravy boat alone would be a nightmare)
Denim without stretch. (DUH.)
A chunky sweater. (Remember this?)
A statement necklace or a turtleneck. (Crumbs.)
Anything too trendy. You want to look back on the family photos without cringing.
XO
