Summer Style: Maxi Dress + A Straw Hat

Hi, friends! I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend. We made a quick trip to my hometown in Wisconsin. It was so nice to get away to the northwoods for a couple of days. (And even though I got hit with a double bout of mastitis (SO painful!) and felt like I had the flu, it was better than getting sick at home. Nothing like having my mom there to take care of me!)

I love the weather this time of year. It’s not scorching hot yet. The days are perfect and the nights are cool. Over the weekend there was rain in the forecast every day, but we didn’t see a single drop.

Style tip: if you’re not tall and it seems most maxi dresses are too long: tie a knot in the bottom. Make sure it’s on the side and not in the front. It’ll take up the hemline and also create a cool asymmetrical look.
