Is it just me, or does it feel like it should still be last summer?? I can’t believe Father’s Day is in a couple of days. In case you got caught and you’re still not quite prepared to shower the men in your life with gifts on Sunday, here are some great last minute ideas. Because you just can’t go wrong with books for dad.
When I was pregnant with Harper, The Mister and I went to Aruba for our Babymoon. We spent the entire time laying in the sun, eating (a lot), sleeping, and trying to prepare ourselves for our impending arrival by reading as many books as we could. One of the standouts was Dude, You’re Gonna Be A Dad. It’s a hilariously real take on fatherhood, and also pretty informative. Perfect for the new Dad-to-be.
Now that our bundle of joy is a toddlin’ little girl, it warms my heart to see how much she loves reading with her daddy. They have a lot of favorites and this one is sure to make the list. Because toots are a dad’s love language.
And of course, we can’t forget about our own dads. My dad is known for saying pretty funny stuff, so this book is right up his alley.
PS – all of these books for dad are at Amazon, so thanks to Amazon Prime, they can be on your doorstep in plenty of time. (You’re on your own with the card, though.)
Thanks for stopping by!

My husband had a couple of these when we were preparing for our first baby and loved them!
So sweet! What a great collection and a great way for dad to spend time with the kids!
This is awesome! I love the “Toot” one. Having a daughter, our bookshelves are often filled with stories of princesses and fairies. I’d be good for us to get a few of these to make dad’s time reading more enjoyable. Appreciate the suggestions!
I love love love this list!! We have a friend who is going to be a new dad in December and he’s been looking for a new book to read.
This is so adorable. Great that you husband gets to read to the baby.
These are great ideas! I was just texting my husband that we need to work on gifts tonight for our dads! I’m gonna get my dad that book “shit my dad says” Thanks for these suggestions!
We have the DADA book by Jimmy Falon and it’s pretty funny. Ella enjoys it (and I’m pretty sure her first word was “yum” … she’s not really saying “dada” or “mama” yet.
Great idea! Eeek, I almost forgot that it’s Father’s Day this weekend!
