Sunday Sweet Edit

April 23, 2023

Happy Sunday Sweet Edit, sweet friends! Spring has come and gone in Chicago, (It’s coming back, right? Right??) so we’re back to being cuddled up inside because I can’t stand being cold anymore. I’m so over it.

But, that means I get to nest and spring clean and get our home in order. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday, if you ask me.

Thank you, as always, for supporting my little corner of the Internet!

What to Do When a Friendship Doesn’t Survive Your Sobriety (with my Mom!) The Sober Mom Life

One of the biggest worries that newly sober women have is how it will affect their friendships. We’re often told that the friendships that ‘matter’ will withstand our shift to an alcohol-free lifestyle. And the drinking buddies? Yes, they might fade away.  But honestly? It’s not that simple. Friendships are tricky, and sobriety can bring a lot of friendship challenges to the surface. Today my therapist mom joins me to share her own story of a deep friendship that did not survive her choice to be sober. We’ll talk about what’s really needed from both friends in order to make the shift when sobriety becomes a part of your life, and we’ll lay out what to expect as you navigate this life change within friendships so that you feel as prepared as you can be. Are you ready to make amazing new sober friends? A graphic that says, "The Real Sober Mom Chats Are Back!"

Who remembers The Real Sober Mom chats? They’re like The Real Housewives, but without the booze and drama. Ha. I chat with real moms about their relationship with alcohol and their sober journey, no matter where there are on it. The episodes will come to the main podcast, but first I’m sharing them on Patreon! Also, you can sign up to share your story on Patreon, too.
