Sunday Sweet Edit

July 17, 2022

Hi, sweet friends. This Sunday Sweet Edit (and every other one) I’m wishing you a wonderful Sunday, whatever your plans may be. I have no plans today, which after a hectic last week, feels so damn good.

I felt like drinking my coffee out of my boob mug this morning, so here are more boob mugs. Ha.

on the podcasts…

So much 90’s nostalgia in this episode and a lot of laughs. I teach Jay about Jen Shah and her plea deal and he talks about Biden’s (latest) gaffe. Also, how are we going to celebrate the Gas Tax holiday?

My best friend of 41+ years is on The Sober Mom Life! We talk about growing up in Wisconsin and how alcohol is so much a part of the culture. We also talk about why we both stopped drinking within a month of each other, but didn’t talk about it…

The Real Sober Moms with Melissa The Sober Mom Life

Like so many of us, alcohol was ever present in Melissa’s life as she was growing up. Though it didn’t hold much interest for her when she was young, its constant presence eventually sucked her in when she was in college. And, as the years went on, it became a centerpiece in her life.  Whenever Melissa’s drinking began to feel like too much, she turned to moderation as a way to cope. Yet time and time again, alcohol simply crept back in until it was just as much of an issue as it had been before. Finally, after a very careful attempt at moderation ended in failure, she decided there was only one other way: to quit completely.  Melissa is now 66 days sober! She is feeling so much relief to finally be free of the cycle.  Join us inside the Sober Mom Life Cafe! I ordered this book after seeing it on Amazon and I’m so glad I did! I love that it’s educational and true, but so cute and captivating. The kiddos love it.

one last thing…

A graphic that says, "I like who I'm becoming a lot."

As women, I think we tend to feel uncomfortable signing our own praises and being able to say that we’re proud of who we are and who we’re becoming.

Let’s flip the script.

I’m proud of who I’m becoming. I like her. She’s worked hard to get where she is today. She’s gone through a hell of a lot and has come out stronger and kinder.

Take some time to think of how far you’ve come. I’m proud of you, too.
