Hi, sweet friends! Who remembers these Cheddar Apple Oatmeal Raisin cookies?? I shared them back in 2017, but thought I’d bring them back because ’tis the season for all things apple.
My mom used to make these cheddar apple oatmeal raisin cookies when I was little, and she just brought them to my house last weekend. I’m pretty sure she considered them a health food in the 80’s since they don’t have a whole lot of sugar. (Don’t mind the butter and cheese. We’re from Wisconsin.)
The original recipe is from a Quaker oats recipe book and they were called “Portable Apple Cheese Pleasers,” which will never not make me laugh. I mean, which cookies aren’t portable?
Also, I know it seems weird to put cheese in cookies, but believe me…it works. The unexpected combination of apples, cheddar and raisins really make these goodies a favorite in our home.
Enjoy!

I know these as “Cheese Pleasers”. I’ve been baking them for years. I use gluten-free flour and make these for my grandchildren’s family. Everyone loves them. They make a nice addition to breakfast, especially for those in the habit of drinking smoothies for breakfast.
I love that you’ve been making them for years, too! They’re so yummy.
