…not that there’s anything wrong with farmers. After all, I grew up in Wisconsin, American’s Dairyland. I tend to shy away from most trends. I like my clothes to withstand seasons and years, and I don’t want to have to replenish my closet with each passing trend. BUT. When you’re talking comfort, I’ll listen. Even if it’s something as trendy as overalls.
When I first tried on these overalls, I’ll admit I was a little embarrassed. I mean, if I remember wearing a trend TWICE before, does it mean I’m too old for the next go-round? (Probs. Oops.)
But, there’s something I couldn’t deny. These babies are COMFORTABLE. Like, never-want-to-take-them-off-Jeff-Goldblum-in-The-Big-Chill comfortable. So, I was sold. (My husband, however, took a little more time to jump on the overall bandwagon.)
I knew I wanted to wear my overalls, but I also knew I didn’t want to be mistaken for a farmer. So, the next step was to make overalls…stylish.
Here’s what I came up with:
ACCESSORIES ARE KEY. Bring out your best bag. Add a cute initial necklace. Sport your chic sunnies. Maybe a stylish baseball cap.
KEEP YOUR TEE TAILORED. Since the overalls are so baggy, keep what you wear underneath on the slimmer side. I love a tee with a feminine fit like this one or the long sleeve version.
ADD A COZY CARDIGAN. I love layering a cardigan over my overalls. It’s less of a commitment to the…overalls. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, friends!
