I feel refreshed! The Mister and I snuck away for a quick fall weekend getaway to The American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin.
My dad gifted us a stay at The American Club for our wedding, and now 3+ years later, we finally put it to use. (Talk about #momlife, right?) I couldn’t be more thankful for the chance to get away from the grind. It’s been a year since I’ve spent a night away from my girl (remember our trip to Naples?) and while I missed her something fierce, it was a much-needed reprieve.
We unplugged from our phones and the rest of the world. We hit the spa for facials and massages, dined on delicious food, laughed until tears rolled down our cheeks (see photo below…), lost ourselves in good books, and took a long nap. It was so nice to be able to hang out with my man without interruptions. It was just like the old days – maybe even better…
On a funny and random note – I totally sucked at packing for this trip. I forgot all of my makeup except my eye liner and mascara. So, I was pretty much rolling like Alicia Keyes all weekend. At first it felt weird. Like walking around naked, but I soon got used to life without tinted moisturizer and bronzer.
We didn’t take a whole lot of photos of our trip – you know, that whole being present thing…:) Here are a couple of shots from the weekend. I hope you enjoy!

What a special getaway! I know those type of weekends do wonders for us mentally and emotionally! Good food and relaxing is the best way to re-connect.
