It’s high time for a pregnancy update!
I always love reading other blogger’s updates, so I thought I’d share mine with you. The good, the surprising, the uncomfortable…
It’s hard to believe I’m already halfway through this pregnancy. It really is true what they say – it goes much quicker the second time around. And. everything happens so much sooner! Like the size of this belly. Whoa! I remember with Harper I had just started to show a little bit at this point. Now the belly is there in all its glory. I love it.
20 Week Pregnancy Update
I keep waiting for more! Isn’t the second trimester supposed to be the time I feel like Superwoman? Maybe it’s because I’m chasing after a toddler all day long, but I really haven’t gotten the burst of energy I thought I would.
So. Many. Sweets. I’m not sure if that’s the baby’s fault, or if I’m just giving in to that damn sweet tooth more. But dude. The timing of this pregnancy with my sweet tooth couldn’t be worse (or better?). Halloween candy taunts me from every store, and I have no defenses against it!
Other than that, I’m pretty much just hungry all the time. From the time I wake up, to the moment my head hits the pillow: HUNGRY.
I haven’t had may aversions this time. Meaning, I’ll eat almost anything. 🙂 Meat is still iffy for me, but that’s how I am in my regular life.
As I mentioned, everything is happening SO MUCH SOONER! The belly, the boobs, the weight gain. I’m trying my best not to worry and just enjoy nurturing my body and the life growing inside of me. I’ll worry about the rest later…
I was waking up with pretty bad headaches every morning, so my Dr told me to drink a cup of coffee right away when I wake up. Ummm….yay! Doctor’s orders, right? So not only have I been enjoying my cup of joe, but the headaches are gone. See – coffee really is magic. I knew it.
So this is another huge difference between this time and the last time. I haven’t done ANYTHING! We need to move my office, then move Harper into my office, and turn Harper’s current room into the nursery. Whoa. Just typing that makes me tired.
I like to keep it pretty simple with my maternity clothes. I can’t live without comfortable leggings, and these leggings are hands down my favorite. I’ve even tried the more expensive department store version, and these STILL win. They cover the bump, hold you in without being too restrictive, and they aren’t at all see through. Bam.
I splurged on this pair of designer denim when I was pregnant with Harper and I recently dusted them off and started wearing them again. You guys. If there’s anything to splurge on when you’re pregnant, this is it. Kinda makes me want to wear maternity denim for the rest of my life. Especially if you’re pregnant in fall/winter, you need a pair of jeans. (I also found this pair for much less.) As far as tees, this one is by far the best. It comes in a tank, short sleeve and v neck version, too.
