37 Things You (Probably) Don’t Know About Me

Guess what?! It’s my birthday. WOOHOO. I’m 37 today, you guys. THIRTY. SEVEN.

To celebrate, I’m sharing 37 pretty random things about me. Enjoy!

My first job was at the circus. (For real.)

I’m terrified of clowns.

I majored in French in college.

My brother is a pro rock climber out east and has taken me climbing in Vancouver, Colorado, Wisconsin and New Hampshire.

I’ve had the same best friend since I was 6 months old.

The first chapter book I read was Charlotte’s Web. I didn’t understand the whole bookmark concept, so I started over at the beginning each time I picked it up to read it. Still to this day, I can recite the first page from memory.

I totaled my car 12 days after I got my Driver’s License.

I have horrible eyesight with a prescription of -7.25.

My pet peeve is when people have stupid pet peeves.

I can appreciate a good curse word.

I was a vegetarian for 2 years in college.

Give me a book and a beach and I’m a happy girl.

My dad taught me how to change my oil and my tires when I was 17.

I could eat my weight in dark chocolate and still want more.

My husband and I met on Facebook.

I have 5 tattoos and would like to get 3 of them removed.

I am a boring eater. (My favorite food is salad. Sad, but true.)

Music makes my life better. Period.

My celebrity crush in high school was David Letterman.

I worked as a retail executive for years and don’t miss it one bit.

I moved to Atlanta without knowing a soul after college and lived there for 7 years.

I hate all seafood (except crab cakes. Because: cake.).

My mom is my hero.

I’m a Christian who believes love is love is love.

My husband ALWAYS beats me at Scrabble. Always.

In high school, my hair was purple.

Both my dog’s and toddler’s names are from To Kill A Mockingbird.

Running and yoga are good for my soul.

I have lived in 21 houses in 37 years.

My idea of a perfect night is being curled up on the couch next to my husband with a glass of red.

I am a grammar nerd and hate when people end their sentences with prepositions and split their infinitives.

My favorite dessert is grocery store birthday cake.

I wore giant red glasses (a la Sally Jessie Raphael) when I was in elementary school.

I’m a total homebody.

My day isn’t complete without some sort of workout.

I think gratitude changes everything.

I absolutely love where I live and feel like I have finally found my home.

Love this! I remember going with your family and getting your from the emergency room in the middle of the night when you totalled your car and how absolutely thankful we were that you were essentially unhurt. I also remember the purple hair and Letterman stage with a smile! And the reason I can change my oil and even my brakes is because your dad taught me too when we were in high school. If I haven’t told you lately, it was fun getting to grow up with you and your family – I’m a better person today for the impact all of you had in my life back then!

I hope you have an amazing birthday, surrounded by those you love! Happy Birthday mama – keep on rockin’ it!
